The Claiborne House Inn and Retreat in downtown Rocky Mount, VA, offers six unique guest rooms tastefully curated with vintage finds. We provide a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, and electric car charging. We also are a pet friendly home, with a small fee.
Our Rooms and Suites
We offer six unique guest rooms with twins, queen, or king beds. All rooms are located on the second floor of the home, apart from the Magnolia, which is a cottage in the rear of the property. Every room has its own private bathroom (all ensuites, except for the Sweet Dreams room which has exclusive use of the original hallway bathroom).

The Claiborne House provides a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, and electric car charging. We are also pet friendly, with a small fee. The bathrooms include amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, hairdryer, and plenty of fluffy towels. Complimentary coffee bars and bottled waters are also available 24/7.

Pet Friendly Accomodations
Three of our guest rooms at The Claiborne are pet-friendly for well-behaved dogs (limit two) with no breed or size restrictions. A pet fee of $30 is added for additional cleaning. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and yard areas, with pick-up bags accessible for clean-up. Multiple area restaurants are dog-friendly, and the downtown area has plenty of sidewalks for easy walks. There are several parks close by for walks and enjoying the outdoors.

Beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable beds and bedding, thoughtful touches like chargers on the nightstands and bottled water. Common living areas to relax or sit on the porch and watch the sunset. Breakfast is delicious! The innkeepers are delightful. Lots to do in town and there are several day trip options too. Highly recommend The Claiborne House Inn & Retreat and Rocky Mount.

We are so tickled The Claiborne House is back open. Karole and Paul have put their personal touch to enhance the legacy of this fine preferred stay when coming to shows at the Harvester. We love the cottage and were pleasantly surprised to find home made cookies,
a selection of fine chocolates, a fireplace that heats, and a little work desk with seating. We have an EV, and love they now have a compatible charger available to charge the car.

We had a wonderful stay at The Claiborne House Inn & Retreat. Karole and Paul were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home. The Inn is beautiful and impeccably maintained. Our room was spotless, comfortable and tastefully furnished with an especially comfortable bed. Breakfast at the Inn was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend the Claiborne House Inn for anyone.
